Haven Behavioral Hospital Unveils New Juniper Unit

PhoenixOfficials at Haven Behavioral Hospital recently unveiled a sneak peek of its new wing, the Juniper Unit, and renovation project that primarily focused on the expansion and upgrade of all inpatient geriatric mental health services in the facility. The Juniper Unit opens for patients on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

The expansion includes an additional 15 beds, activity room, family area, medical examination room, dining room and bariatric capabilities. This project will mark the first major architectural improvements to the hospital in eight years. Officials noted that the expansion and facility improvements will better enable the hospital to meet the behavioral health needs of seniors in the community.

“The Haven Senior Horizon’s team is very passionate about providing excellent care to Senior’s with behavioral health needs in the State of Arizona.   With the renovations and expansion of our hospital beds, we will be able to provide this vulnerable population a much needed service,” commented Kathy Shaw, CEO of Haven Behavioral Hospital.

The hospital’s operations have been unaffected by the construction and is scheduled to open the Juniper unit for admissions on April 6, 2016.

“This facility improvement should be sufficient to allow Haven Behavioral Hospital to serve the inpatient mental health needs for seniors for the next 10 years,” said Shaw.  “Combining efficient physical space with our excellent medical staff and hospital employees, and the latest clinical technology will enhance our ability to continue to provide our patients with the highest quality care possible,” added Shaw.  “We are excited about assuring the continued availability of excellent healthcare services in our area for years to come.”
